Author Zora Matthews is the child of well-known author Thomas Morgan Matthews that passed away a year earlier. Both Zora and also Thomas deal with schizophrenia. After a fight with spouse Drew, Zora leaves to her father's secluded home in lovely Topanga Canyon. There Zora is presented to bartender Eddie, his other half Lorena, and handyman Amadi.
