Red Angel

In1939, Sakura Nishi is a young army nurse who, during the Sino-Japanese war, is assigned to work in one of the field hospitals located in China. She is required to provide assistance to the surgeon, Dr. Okabe, in the performance of an extraordinary number of amputations. In the overcrowded wards, she shows compassion to a few of the service members, even engaging in sexual activity with one who has lost both arms and has given up hope of ever going back home. She develops romantic feelings for Dr. Okabe and decides to accompany him to the front lines, despite the fact that his morphine addiction has rendered him impotent.
