Laura Brummels is out to avenge the death of a young kid, which she could have stopped. It's put her in a prison of guilt for cooperating as a reporter with a corrupt political system. Laura is sentenced to Aquila, where no one escapes and an annual monsoon drowns everyone. And she learns that one of the notorious guards killed the small youngster. This is her chance to atone for the boy's death. But there's a surprise in her big cell: another prisoner, Joseph, has survived the last flood and is trying to flee Aquila before the next one. Ingenious plan to remove stones from prison roof, but he can't accomplish it alone. To succeed, he must persuade his new cell companion to stop murdering and join him in escape.
