The Beverly Hillbillies
The Beverly Hillbillies is an American situation comedy originally Aired for nine seasons on CBS in 1962 to 1971, starring Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer, Jr..
The show is about a backwoods family transplanted to Beverly Hills after oil onto his or her territory. Even a Filmways production created by writer Paul Henning, it's the very first in a genre of"fish out of water" themed television shows, and was followed by additional Henning-inspired country-cousin show on CBS. In 1963, Petticoat Junction was introduced by Henning, and in 1965 he switched the rags to riches version for Green Acres. The show paved the way for after programs such as The Jeffersons, McCloud, The Nanny, The Prince of Bel-Air, and Doc. Panned by most entertainment critics of its time, it became a ratings success for almost all of its own operate.
The Beverly Hillbillies ranked for eight of its nine seasons, with double ranking because the number 1 series of this calendar year among the top twenty most watched programs on television, with a range of episodes which remain being among the most watched television episodes of alltime.
The popularity of this show spawned a 1993 film movie.
