Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal is a Canadian science fiction play tv show which was filmed in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada, also aired 8 8 episodes over four seasons from 1996 to 2000. The presence of Dan Aykroyd launching and closing every episode and emphasizing the legitimacy of their organization it was inspired by directed some viewers to take the show marginally more badly than intended, though it had been in fact a drama. Partly Because of This, in 1997 the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, subsequently known as the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, given Aykroyd a"Snuffed Candle" award, for"leading to the general public's lack of comprehension regarding the procedures of scientific inquiry."
