This is the account of a single birth from beginning to end, told in the first person. For the first time, a woman's physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual experience of giving birth is documented in an intimate documentary setting. Emily Graham is awakened in her bed at home in Greenville, South Carolina, just after midnight on December 6, 2016, by a painful contraction. The start of labor has finally arrived. Her husband Jason, midwife Carey, and Emily's mother Judy guide her through the process of giving birth in the hours that follow.
