The Current

It turns out that Jake likes living in Chicago, but when the violence of the city gets too close to home, his parents buy a campground in rural Minnesota and move the whole family there. Jake doesn't like living at the campground until he meets Peter, the boy across the river, and he likes him a lot. They become fast friends and spend the summer on the river together. Peter tells Jake about his Christian faith during a conversation. His newfound spirituality helps Jake to comfort a friend in the midst of tragedy.
